Blackie lived with Joel along with a not too bright cat named "Sammy." She was about a million years old as best anyone could tell (she first showed up in the early 90's and she appeared to be old then).  She's was a tabby, and despite the harrassment by many people to the effect that "hey, that cat's not black." The fact is that the primary color of her WAS black (speaking spectrographically). She was actually the only cat to rank lower on the food chain than O.C. when they lived together. She was a very nice old cat with an adorable scratchy meow and she is missed.
